The Northern Ohio Surfrider Chapter is looking forward to an exciting year of events along our lakes and waterways.

Recycle Right! In Person Presentation

Learn best practices for recycling right in Cuyahoga County and what you can do to make a meaningful difference in your community. Get answers to questions about curbside recycling and discuss what, where, how, and when to recycle other items you need to part with. One hour. Free, open to the public. Contact Cuyahoga Recycles for more details.

Beach Cleanup at Spitzer Beach in Lorain, Ohio

We will spend the day on Saturday, May 18th at Spitzer Beach in Lorain, Ohio. It's one of our favorite surf locations in Northern Ohio. 
 
We'll start the day with an optional, donation-based yoga session by our friend Kim Haney with SunDog Yoga at 9a.
 
Beach Cleanup from 10-noon.

International Surfing Day at Spitzer Beach in Lorain, Ohio

Come Celebrate International Surfing Day with the Northern Ohio Surfrider Foundation Chapter.
 
Saturday, June 15th 
 
We will spend the day at Spitzer Beach in Lorain, Ohio. It's one of our favorite surf locations in Northern Ohio. 
 
We'll start the day with an optional, donation-based yoga session by our friend Kim Haney with SunDog Yoga at 9a. Beach Cleanup from 10-noon. Other festivities will be announced soon.

✔️ April 21 - 10a Earth Day Beach Cleanup at Mentor Lagoons at 1p-3p 

✔️ May 4 - 10a  RiverSweep Cleanup in partnership with Canalway Partners @ Merwins Wharf

✔️ May 7 - Black River Audubon Society Monthly Meeting Our Volunteer Coordinator, Lara Roketenetz will speak on the "Challenges of our Great Lakes for Humans and Wildlife" at Carlisle Visitor Center in Lagrange Ohio. Time 7p. Link for full details

- May 16 - 6:30-7:30p Recycle Right! in person presentation in partnership with Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District and Keep the Lakes Great! @ Terrestrial Brewing Company

- May 18 - 10a  Beach Cleanup at Spitzer Beach in Lorain. Donation based yoga session with Kim Haney and Sundog Yoga and Wellness at 9a prior to cleanup.

- June-August - Invasive Species Frogbit Cleanup at Old Woman Creek in Huron. Time TBD

- June 15 - 10a International Surfing Day Beach Cleanup at Spitzer Beach in Lorain. Donation based yoga session with Kim Haney and Sundog Yoga and Wellness at 9a prior to cleanup. 

- June 21 - Blazing Paddles Paddlefest at Merwins Wharf, Time TBD

- June 22 - Century Park Cleanup and "Try it" day. Details Coming Soon

- August 10 - Lakeview Beach Lorain, OH, Details Coming Soon

- August 17 - Whiskey Island Paddlefest at Whiskey Island in Cleveland, OH

403 pounds of trash were collected at our 1st cleanup at Irish Town Bend in April 2023. Our favorite finds? A machete, a rusty bike, an HVAC unit and a disco-style smoke machine!
