The Executive Committee is a group of volunteers responsible for running a Surfrider Foundation chapter. It’s a fun and rewarding position that requires consistent efforts.
Terms: All of our positions are 2-year terms.
Details: All positions are volunteer. All positions must hold a minimum of 2 - 10 "office" hours per week and attends one chapter meeting and/or one event per month.
Who Can Run? Anyone! Active Surfrider membership is encouraged.
Chair: provide leadership, direction and vision to the chapter, ensuring that its mission, goals and objectives are being met
Vice Chair: shall perform duties that usually pertain to this office or as may be assigned by the Chairman or the Executive Committee
Treasurer: responsible for the chapter's financial records and keeping the chapter complaint with our guidelines
Secretary: responsible for the chapter's records (minutes) and correspondence
Volunteer Coordinator: responsible for coordinating all members within the chapter
Events Coordinator: responsible for chapter events in the local community
Social Media: responsible for the chapter's Facebook & Instagram presence through content and creative asset creation
At Large Member: Contributes to campaigns, events, fundraising and/or education.
