2nd Annual Lake Erie BBB with Surfrider Foundation Niagara Frontier Chapter
We will meet our friends from The NY Chapter of Surfrider Foundation in Erie, PA on Saturday August 23. Bring your boards, kayaks and other gear for a day at the beach.
We'll start the day at 11:30a with a beach cleanup, then at 1:30 we will have a BBQ and a gear swap.
What is involved in the gear swap? Do you have equipment that you'd like to trade, sell or buy? Come on out with your gear and trade with other Great Lakes friends. Got a wetsuit that is a snug, last year model? Bring it with you to sell or trade with someone that will love your last year treasures.
The Surfrider Crews from Cleveland, OH and Upstate NY will bring Burgers and Dogs. If you want to contribute to the Pot Luck, drop us a post. We'd love to share your best side dishes.
About the Location: Presque Isle is a short 90 minute roadtrip from Downtown Cleveland. The beautiful 7 miles of beaches on Lake Erie is a very special place on the Great Lakes. In fact, the NY Times recently ranked it as a top beach escape for 2025. There are on-the-beach camping options at Sara's Campground, as well local hotels, casinos and other fun places if you'd like a quick beachfront getaway.

Beach Cleanup at Lakeside Landing in Lorain, Ohio
Join the Northern Ohio Surfrider Chapter at Lakeside Landing Beach for a beach cleanup on Saturday September 6 from 10-noon.
Euclid Beach is located at 301 Lakeside Ave, Lorain Ohio.

The Surfrider Foundation is a grassroots non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our ocean, waves, and beaches, for all people, through a powerful activist network.
The Great Lakes Region consists of a volunteer network from chapters across the Great Lakes committed to protecting the fresh water coastlines in the US. The Northern Ohio Chapter is home to dedicated volunteers who protect Lake Erie and it's surrounding rivers and tributaries.

403 pounds of trash were collected at our 1st cleanup at Irish Town Bend in April 2023. Our favorite finds? A machete, a rusty bike, an HVAC unit and a disco-style smoke machine!
